I’ve always loved a good to-do list.

Not because I have to be productive every second of the day or because I love being busy—it’s actually the opposite.

For me, a to-do list is a way to quiet my mind.

The moment I write everything down, I can stop trying to remember it all. I’m no longer mentally keeping track of appointments, errands, things I need to buy, or that random task I’m afraid I’ll forget later. It’s all there, on paper, waiting for me when I’m ready.

And, can we talk about crossing things off?

There’s something so satisfying about that little checkmark. It doesn’t have to be a huge accomplishment, either: making the bed, taking a shower, starting a load of laundry… those count, too. In fact, on the hard days, they might be the most important things on the list.

I think we sometimes underestimate the power of small wins. They build confidence, create momentum, and make the next task feel just a little less overwhelming. One checkmark turns into another, and before you know it, you’ve done more than you thought you could!

A to-do list won’t magically do the work for you, but it can make the mental load feel lighter. And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need—not a perfect day, just a little more clarity, one small step at a time.
